We operate on an appointment system. A standard appointment is usually adequate to deal with most health issues.
• We offer appointments with certain GP’s between the hours of 8am-5pm Monday-Friday
• Outside of these hours no appointment is required, and patients will be seen on an “as arrive basis”.
• If you are making an appointment for an Insurance or Employment Medical, Procedure or Complex/ Multiple Medical problems, please book a longer appointment.

SAME DAY POLICY:
• If you or someone you know is unwell enough to call us, we know you will want to see a Doctor right away. That’s why we have a same day policy (or next available appointment).
• The appointment may not be with your usual Doctor, and a wider variety of available times will be disclosed dependant on the time of day we are first notified of your desire to book an appointment, but we always do our best to accommodate your unique needs.
• Please note from time to time there are emergencies and on rare occasions this policy may apply.
REMINDER SYSTEM & NO-SHOP POLICY:
• We know it can be difficult sometimes to remember appointments. If you are unable to attend an appointment, please cancel as soon as possible.
• If you do not attend your appointment after 3 attempts, you will need to attend the surgery physically and make an appointment.
• The Doctors in the Centre regularly send Recall & Reminder Letters to patients regarding test results.
• The Practice participates in the National State & Territory Reminder System for Pap Screening & Diabetes Register
WAITING TIMES:
• No one likes to be kept waiting. Our staff respect this and try to adhere to appointment times. The unpredictable nature of a Medical Practice means that consultations sometimes last longer than anticipated.
• We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused to patients when we are behind schedule.
• Please feel free to phone our Surgery to check whether your appointment will be on time.
• Reception will also try to phone you advising of any delay.
• If you require any assistance, please consult our friendly staff.
REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS:
• In order to monitor your health and fulfil our ethical and legal responsibilities, we require that you attend your Doctor (or if your usual Doctor is not available, one of the other Doctors) in order to receive further prescriptions for your medications.
SICKNESS CERTIFICATES:
• A certificate may only be issued after an examination by a Doctor, so please make an appointment for this.
RECEIVING RESULTS:
• It is the policy of this practice to have all patients return for a consultation for their results.
If a result comes back as clinically significant, you will be contacted by your Doctor.
HOME VISITS:
• Please contact our After Hours on or present to your local Casualty/Emergency Department.
REFERRALS:
• Please note that referrals cannot be back date for legal reasons and all patients must make an appointment with the Doctor for a referral.
TELEPHONING YOUR DOCTOR, & EMAIL ACCESS:
• We believe almost all problems are best dealt with in consultation. However, you can contact the Doctors during surgery opening hours and the Receptionist will take a message.
• In an emergency, your call will be put through to a Nurse for Triaging.
• Our emails are not encrypted so please take care of sharing any of your personal information.
BILLING ARRANGEMENTS:
• Not all consultations will be Bulk Billed at Christine Cnr Medical Centre.
• Patients without a Medicare Card will be charged a private fee.
• Ask at reception for the fees for Non-Medicare Patients.
• Workers Compensation will be sent through to the appropriate Workcover.
• Please note that our friendly reception staff can help you claim your Medicare Rebate if applicable.
• Certain Procedures may have an out of pocket expense.
• Your Doctor will advise you if there is any out of pocket expenses.
VACCINES:
• Patients are encouraged to take advantage of free vaccines made available by the Federal and State Governments.
• Please ask our Nursing staff or your Doctor for further details.
• For those planning to travel overseas, we require you to visit your GP at least 6 weeks prior to leaving the Country.
• All routine childhood and adult vaccinations and can be provided at the surgery.
• These can be given on any day and vaccination record cards can be obtained.
PARKING & DISABLED ACCESS:
• Ample parking is available at the Front and side of Medical Centre with separate bays allocated for disabled patients.
